MPA Endorses Capuano

By Josh Resnek

The Massachusetts Police Association (MPA), the largest law enforcement labor organization in the Commonwealth, has endorsed U.S. Representative Michael E. Capuano for re-election in Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District.

“The Massachusetts Police Association is proud to endorse Mike Capuano in his campaign for re-election,” said Alan Andrews, president of the MPA. “Congressman Capuano has always represented working families with passion and integrity.”

“I am thankful for the endorsement of the Massachusetts Police Association and grateful for the support,” said Congressman Capuano. “Police officers across the Commonwealth perform a difficult job with dignity and professionalism. It is an honor to fight on their behalf and for working families on the issues that matter – protecting Social Security and Medicare bene ts, reducing the costs of health care and medicine, and opposing destructive policies that undermine public service.”

The MPA represents more than 15,000 active duty and retired police officers in Massachusetts.

Congressman Capuano has been endorsed for re-election by an array of labor organizations, progressive champions, and leading elected officials such as civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis, who called Capuano “a leader alongside those of us opposing the unfair and immoral policies of the Trump Administration” who shows “courage on so many issues,” including income inequality, civil rights, gun control, health care, affordable housing, gender pay inequity, immigration and transportation.
