Rain Puts a damper on bats

By Lorenzo Recupero

Following consecutive changes to the schedule due to rainouts last week, the Lady Tide were finally able to hit the playing field on Saturday, but by then their bats had already gone cold in a 9-1 loss to Danvers.
The defeat drops the girls to 3-5 overall on the season ahead of their eighth game of the year against Medford.

Head coach Stacy Schiavo did not flinch in detailing her teams convincing loss to Danvers.

“Everett made some great plays but unfortunately, our bats were not there” said Schiavo.  “Danvers pitcher was the best we have faced this season with speed.  We were indoors the days before with the pitching machine cranked up to 60-62 MPH, but it is a lot different facing a live pitcher,” she said.

The girls will look to get their swing in order and back into the win column on Wednesday, May 2 with a 4PM home game against Swampscott.
