Everett High School’s Yasmeen Guerrier will soon be trading her Crimson in for some gold and black.

The senior basketball star signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for American International College in Springfield.

This past basketball season at Everett High School, Yasmeen became the first female 1,000-point scorer in nearly 20 years since Keri Downs did it last from 1995-99′.

Her commitment to AIC means she will continue her learning while pursuing a degree in physical therapy.

Those familiar with the future Yellow Jackets’ skills on the court know this means buckets for AIC, who will be getting a determined scorer and passer with some mean handles on the hardwood.

A grateful Yasmeen issued this statement to family and friends via her social media account:

“It’s always been a dream to study physical therapy and play ball in college. Thank you for all the support and love I received daily, it has really helped me to keep pushing and achieve my goals.”
