The Massachusetts Lottery took in the unbelievable amount of $45,994,379.25 in Everett in Fiscal Year 2017.

This is down slightly from 2016, when the Lottery scored $46,491,593.50 here.

While 2018 figures are not yet available, it is believed Lottery figures will again be marginally down when all is said and done.

These figures, provided to the Leader Herald by Lottery officials, reveal that Lottery purchases per capita here are in the $100 per person region.

That is, for every person in the city, there were approximately $100 of Lottery wagers made in Everett.

Direct local aid from the Lottery back to the city was $6,642,634.00 in 2017.

Direct local aid to the city in 2016 was $6,368,777.00, according to the Lottery.

Several of the city’s major Lottery sales outlets interviewed for this piece all expressed the same thing – that Lottery sales are solid but not growing in a recognizable way.
