City To Host Grand Reopening of swan street park June 16

The mayor would like to invite all residents to the Grand Re-Opening of the newly renovated Swan Street Park on Saturday, June 16th at 11AM. This project began in the spring of 2017 and is now a state-of-art facility that will make every resident proud.

The renovation project included the playground, a splash pad, picnic tables, playing turf, and independent pedestrian lighting that illuminates areas of the park, such as the perimeter walkways.

Swan Street Park is one of many parks and tot lots around the City that has or will receive updates and renovations.

The Mayor has continuously highlighted that keeping the community’s recreational areas and green spaces current and well maintained are an essential aspect of retaining value in our City.

“Togetherwearemakingour City a better place to live, work and play,” states the mayor, “By building a strong community foundation, we will know not only what Everett was, but also everything it can be.

The Grand Re-Opening will include face painters, balloon twisters, PAW Patrol characters, a giant inflatable obstacle course and demonstrations from the Everett Health and Wellness Center on fun games that can be played at all parks.

The Everett Fire, Police, and Library Departments, YMCA, and Boy and Girl Scout organizations will also be in attendance. In addition, there will be healthy snacks courtesy of New England Banana Company and treats from the Everett City Council.

The Mayor urges all residents to mark your calendars for this important event. The Mayor wants to continue the movement that encourages children in the City to explore parks and discover nature and adventure right around the corner or just across town.
