Fireworks to Highlight the Celebration for a second year in a row
The mayor and the City of Everett are pleased to once again invite Everett residents to the City’s Independence Day Celebration. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, July 7thbeginning at 4:00PM at Glendale Park.
For a second year in a row, a grand finale fireworks show will close out the event. The firework show, which will be shot off at Glendale Park and timed to an exciting musical accompaniment, will be after sundown at approximately 9PM.
The mayor stated, “This is a day that you don’t want to miss. Last year’s event, especially the fireworks were spectacular. I am glad we were able to bring this tradition back to our community. As Mayor, it has always been important for me to make sure that my administration offers a variety of programs, events, and opportunities for our residents and I greatly appreciate that so many people come out to enjoy these programs.”
In the afternoon, residents are invited to Glendale Park for a BBQ, musical entertainment from various local bands and activities for family fun, including face painting, balloon twisting, a petting zoo, pony rides, and other attractions.
There will also be vendor booths with several giveaways and activities from: the YMCA in Everett, Girl and Cub Scouts, Joint Committee for Children’s Healthcare, RCN ice cream truck, Hot 96.9, Mayor DeMaria, Senator Sal DiDomenico, Representative Joe McGonagle and the City Council. All giveaways are first come, first served.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Sunday, July 8th. If the event is postponed to the 8th, residents will be notified by Thursday evening, July 5th via Facebook posts and robo-calls.
The mayor stated, “Community celebrations are one of the reasons why Everett was named one of the top ten places to live in Massachusetts. Please come join the celebration of our country and our community. I hope to see everyone there.”
