FLEET, Helen M. (Sweeney) of Saugus, formerly of Everett, entered into rest unexpectedly, July 15, 2018 in the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. She was 83 years old.

Born in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston, Massachusetts, Helen lived in Everett for most of her life before settling in Saugus with her daughter, Donna.


She worked for Shreve, Crump and Low Jewelry Company in Boston as a switchboard operator for nearly 40 years.

Beloved wife of the late M. James Fleet. Dear and devoted mother of Susan E. Kelly and her husband, William of Rowley and Donna L. Frati and her husband, Thomas of Saugus. Dear sister of Donna L. Harrill and her husband, James W. of Westford, Barbara A MacDonald of Canton, Nancy L. Sweeney of Hudson and the late Shirley L. Latham and Edward A. Sweeney. Loving grandmother of Allison and Samantha Kelly and Thomas and Christina Frati.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Helen’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Friday, July 20 from 4-8 p.m. Her funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by her funeral service in the First Baptist Church of Malden, 493 Main St., Malden at 10 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Malden would be sincerely appreciated.
