For about a decade, Everetttopix.com has served as a chatter site for a small number of Internet savvy Everett residents.
The site attracted four to five dozen people in a day at times, and the “chatter” on the site could be filled with speculation and inventive about the news stories and Everett characters making them.
Everetttopix.com exists no more.
The site has apparently been purchased or merged or simply taken out of circulation by Patch, the better known and more highly attended Internet site that is best known for listing local events, news and conversations.
‘Topic users can chat with their neighbors on Patch and stay up to date with everything happening in their town,” Topix wrote in saying farewell to their Internet following this week on the website.
The following is their swan song message to their following: “The Topix Forums Have Sailed Into the Sunset. For over a decade Topix has proudly served up your town’s latest news and hottest takes. “In that time a lot has changed. We have grown to be one of the internet’s largest entertainment sources.
“We want to thank all of our forum readers and contributors. You helped shape our company and push us in directions we never thought possible. We hope that you continue to enjoy our content no matter what form it might take.”
A search of Everett Patch on the Internet Wednesday produced only sporadic Everett news reports mixed with Malden, Somerville, and Medford stories.
