Street Lights Are Shining

The city council deserves congratulations for forcing National Grid to do what it is supposed to do – that is – to make sure all the street lights are on all the time.

When a recent survey by the council turned up 12 lights that were out, the council ordered National Grid to act or to face sanctions and fines. To its credit, National Grid went to work replacing bulbs and fixing underground wires.

A National Grid official called before the council Monday night to report revealed 11 out of 12 street lamps were now working.

The last one will be fixed by the end of the week.

Nice work city council.
