Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox was repeatedly punched and kicked by his wife during an outing to a Las Vegas steak house on their 17th wedding anniversary, according to reports in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Inside T-Bones Chophouse at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Katherine Maddox, his wife of 17 years, became angry about something shortly after finishing dinner.
Maddox reported to police that she hit him twice in the face, and kicked him once.
Mrs. Maddox told police the attack happened once they had arrived home and that she had slapped him several times with an open hand when he tried to grab her cell-phone, this, according to details revealed in Mrs. Maddox arrest report, as detailed in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
What really happened?
Casino surveillance video shows Katherine Maddox punched her husband “four to five times in his face” before shoving him two or three times and then hitting him “with an under hook closed fist punch, striking him in his jaw once, then she slapped the phone out of his hand.”
Mrs. Maddox was arrested and later pleaded no contest to one count of domestic battery.
She will now be required to perform at least 48 hours of community service and undergo domestic violence counseling, the las Vegas Review Journal reported, citing court records.
Matt Maddox refused to give a statement to police.
“My wife and I were in an argument on our 17th wedding anniversary,” added Maddox in an official statement of his own. “No one was hurt and no one was in any danger. It was a misunderstanding. We are deeply in love and incredibly supportive of each other for over 20 years. This has already been resolved in court. It is a private matter and will be my last comment.”
Wynn Resorts published a statement that the incident had nothing whatsoever to do with Wynn Resorts and was a private matter.
