It was a deadly weekend in Everett.
Two women died in a tragic fire on Madison Avenue on Sunday night.
At the beginning of the weekend, a 24-year-old medical student was driving Westward on Route 16 at about 9:30PM by the intersection of Vine Street and was proceeding through the green light when a couple dashed onto the road trying to cross the heavily travelled roadway.
According to State Police, the driver of the 2012 Dodge Charger hit the man, a 62-year-old Melrose resident.
He was struck and died a while later after being removed by EMT’s to the Whidden Hospital (CHA Everett Hospital).
The woman crossing with the man was not hit.
The driver, a Utah man, was thrown into a state of shock by the incident and was treated by EMT’s at the scene.
State Police say he stopped his car and remained on the scene and cooperated with police.
The crash remains under investigation
