Charlene P. Allwood

Charlene P. (Flynn) Allwood, a resident of Revere and former longtime resident of Charlestown and Everett, entered into eternal life unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family and friends on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 71 years of age.

Charlene was born in Everett on March 26, 1948, a daughter of the late Thomas J. Flynn and Agnes E. (Murphy) Flynn. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge in 1966. Charlene worked for many years as a Tax Accountant for Thompson-Rueters and Ernst & Young Accounting Firms. Charlene is President of The Everett Emblem Club # 32 and past State President of The Massachusetts State Association of Emblem Clubs. Charlene enjoyed camping at Old Orchid Beach, Maine with her family and was an avid movie goer and enjoyed traveling. Family was paramount to Charlene in her life and she enjoyed the quality moments with her son and her brothers and their families. She also cherished the special times with her extended family, the many members of the Emblem Clubs that she was involved with.

Charlene is the loving mother to William “Billy” Allwood and the late Amanda Allwood. She is the devoted sister of Edward Flynn and his wife Nancy and the late Thomas J. Flynn Jr. and his surviving wife Chickie. She is the loving aunt to John Ryan, Jacquelyn and her husband Christopher, Jannine, Christopher and his wife Carey, Brayden, Camron, Melanie and Sammy. She is the dear friend of Millie Cardello and DavidPretti and Rosie Jumper.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Charlene’s Funeral on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
