It is one thing for a city council committee to ignore something important and for a quorum not to exist and for a meeting to fall flat on its face.
It is another thing for the city council committee to assemble with all its members having invited a member of the MBTA Fiscal Management Control Board to speak before it about its commuter rail vision but the speaker fails to show up.
The council committee should not be left waiting and hoping in vain for someone from the MBTA to arrive at a duly constituted meeting. It is isn’t right.
It isn’t fair.
The MBTA needs to apologize for this gaffe.
