Mary L. Aversa of Haverhill, formerly of Everett, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 27, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 98 years old. Born in Lafayette, Indiana, Mary lived in Everett for many years before settling in Haverhill with family.
She served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Mary also completed 2 years of college. She worked for many years as an accounts payable clerk for a local silver company. Beloved wife of the late Albert Aversa. Dear and devoted mother of Frances Drysdale and her husband, Harry S. of Haverhill, Leonard Aversa and his late wife, Judy of Wakefield, Albert Aversa and his wife, Sandy, formerly of Boxford and Richard Aversa and his wife, DianeofN.Andover.
Sister of the late James Fry and Dorothea Simpson. Mary is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren, 9 loving great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Monday, February 3 from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St. Chelsea at 10 a.m. Interment with U. S. Army military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 would be sincerely appreciated. Parking with attendants on duty.
