Walking the picket line at the Veterans Transportation facility in Everett Monday are drivers for the MBTA’s “The Ride.”
About 350 drivers, who work for Veterans Transportation but provide para-transit for the MBTA, are members of Teamsters Local 25 and rejected a contract over a dispute including health insurance rates voting to strike.
The T urged the drivers and Veterans Transportation to continue negotiations and resolve the contract so regular service can resume. They also said they would continue to provide “The Ride” service asbest it can.
Picket lines are also set up at a Watertown location.
