Senator Ed Markey for re-election

We urge Everett voters to cast a ballot either by mail or in person for Senator Ed Markey on September 1.

He is the better choice this time around.

In our opinion, Representative Joe Kennedy can wait until next time to do his thing.

What’s the big rush?

This election is not Joe Kennedy’s moment.

He will have his time. That time is not right now.

He does not offer as much to Everett and Massachusetts voters as Senator Markey.

Being a Kennedy and voting exactly as Senator Markey votes is not enough of a reason to send him to the senate.

This is Ed Markey’s moment.

This is Ed Markey’s destiny.

He has served us well.

He deserves re-election.

Senator Markey has excelled over the decades as a Representative and now for many years with great distinction as our US Senator.

His position was not handed to him. He fought for it. He won his place in the Congress for himself by earning the support and loyalty of generations of voters here.

He is a man of his word. He is a man of faith. He is moral. He is loyal. He is always willing to extend himself for his constituents. He is reachable and down to earth.

He fights to do what is right for the American people.

Above all, he is one of us. From very humble circumstances – his father was a milk man – he has risen from middle class obscurity to educate himself, to become a lawyer, to serve with honor, with intelligence, and without a hint of scandal in almost four decades of public service.

His rise to power was not something handed down to him as a birthright.

His political success is something of his own doing entirely.

He did not come of age in this nation a golden boy, a man of privilege from a powerful, dizzyingly rich, dynastic political family.

That is not to say that Joe Kennedy should be disqualified because he is a Kennedy.

There is no crime in being a Kennedy.

The crime would be to vote for him when Senator Ed Markey should be returned to office on merit.

No one in the Congress speaks more passionately against right and wrong than Ed Markey.

He is a Democrat through and through.

He understands the perils the nation faces.

He is someone we have known and relied upon for many years. We are proud to endorse Senator Ed Markey for the US Senate on September1.
