Wishing Dr. Easy a big win

The Everett School Department’s Dr. Omar Easy is a finalist to lead the Quincy Public Schools as its superintendent.

He is one of three finalists vying for the position.

Dr. Easy is one of our own.

He is a product of this city and he has served with distinction since becoming involved in public education here in 2012. He was one of this city’s greatest high school athletes and went on to the National Football League where he played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders. He was always more than an athlete.

He was also a scholar and proved it at Penn State where he earned a doctorate in educational leadership and legal studies.

Dr. Easy is a very talented, affable family man.

Through his experience here, he has become the type of administrator with skills that would suit the City of Quincy as it looks to put its public schools in good hands for the next few years.

We wish Dr. East the best.

If he gets what he wants, Quincy’s school kids will all be better for it.
