Man shot after leaving Encore Casino

A man in his 30’s was shot around 3 a.m. Sunday after spending time at the Encore according to Everett Police Chief Steven Mazzie.

Chief Mazzie and Middle- sex District Attorney Marian Ryan confirmed an investigation is ongoing about the shooting that occurred in the area of Sweetser Circle.

The identity of the shooting victim nor the circumstances of the shooting were released by the police.

Neither Mazzie nor Ryan went into great detail about the shooting except to say that Everett Police responded to a call around 3 a.m. Sunday morning on a report for a man with a gunshot wound.

According to Everett Police, a preliminary investigation reveals the man was shot after leaving the Encore casino.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for his wounds which are not believed to have been life threatening.

No details about the extent of his wounds were released.

The shooting isn’t thought to be random, according to the police.

No arrests have been made.

Neither the District Attorney’s office nor the Everett Police named any suspects.

The State Police are also investigating the shooting.
