Dee Williams was born on March 12, 1953 to Irene Jackson at Tewksbury Hospital. Her birth mother was too ill to take care of her, so she lived at the New England Home for Little Wanderers un- til the age of 5 when she was adopted by the Late Paul and Mildred Sampson of Everett, MA.
She lived with 13 brothers and 1 sister and attended Everett Public Schools. She had a love for animals and developed a passion for motorcycles which were around her neighborhood. Upon graduating high school at the age of 15, she briefly attended North Shore Community College until she entered the United States Air Force. She held various jobs in the Air Force while stationed at Keesler AFB in Mississippi before being transferred to Kadena AB, Japan.
She became the first woman scanner for the 603rd Squadron which was part of the Air Force Pararescue Unit. She assisted in search and rescue missions and at times parachuted out of helicopters. It was injuries from a jump she sustained in her feet that plagued her until her passing. Upon returning to the United States she trained to inspect aircraft for any damage. Before leaving the Air Force, she became a drug and alcohol counselor. It was at her last duty station at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada where she met the love of her life, Thomas Williams who was also returning from a tour of duty in Korea. Because of difficulties she faced growing up, Dee developed a strong faith in Jesus and after just 3 months of dating, married Thomas who she loved; and their love grew for the next 41 years.
While they were both involved in serving in their Church in Nevada, her Father back in Massachusetts became ill and passed away and through prayer both she and her husband relocated to Massachusetts to handle family issues. It was in 1991 they adopted Jeffrey and Veronica and lovingly welcomed them into their family. When her husband became Pastor of Holy Temple in 2005, she served with him in Ministry as First Lady until her pass- ing. She had a big heart and through the gifts of helps and kindness blessed the lives of many people.
Dee had health issues that were compounded as she aged, and though her body endured pain as she grew older, she was always smiling and very loving to everyone she met. She had a good sense of humor and a deep care and concern to help people no matter their circumstances. She would go out of her way to do for anyone. She loved her motorcycle, fishing and when she was younger would practice martial arts with her husband. She was a real down to earth woman of God whose smile would lift anyone up and give them encouragement. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her Birth Mother, Irene Jackson; her adoptive parents Paul and Mildred Sampson; her only sister Joyce Pettiford and all but 2 of her 13 brothers. She is survived by her husband , Thomas, her son Jeffrey, her daughter Veronica, 2 brothers, Al Sampson of Chicago, IL, Alex Bohrer of Austin, TX; sisters-in- law Michele (Carl Waters), Doris Williams, Brother in law, Anthony Williams; 4 grandchildren, Nikko, Johann, Xzavier and Hudson; her sister-in law Lortricia Chambers, Aunt Joan Marie Porter and a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, Godchildren and many other extended family and friends. Dee loved Jesus, her husband, her family and people in general. She impacted the lives of everyone who knew her.
