Everett resident David Wright has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for a plot to behead Pamela Geller, a Jewish woman who heads up a radical Jewish website.
Wright was convicted in 2017 for the crime but that ruling was tossed.
After a second trial in front of a different federal judge, Wright was convicted of conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries.
Wright has already served five years of his sentence.
He conspired with an- other man to kill Geller, a controversial voice decrying the evils of Muslim terrorism while at the same time serving to protect Jews from Muslim terrorism.
Wright had planned to behead Geller, according to evidence presented at the trial.
Wright’s uncle, Ussamah Rahim, who was to join him in the plot, changed his mind and decided to go after Boston Police.
He was fatally shot in a Boston parking lot after he pulled out a knife and lunged after the officers.
Prosecutors wanted Wright sent away for life. His lawyers asked for 14 years, requesting the reduced sentence insisting that the virus put Rahim’s life in danger.
