Encore closes hotel, cuts gaming hours

Encore Hotel is being shut following the state’s new COVID-19 rules and restrictions which go into effect on Friday.
Encore announced the hotel will be closed until further notice.
The casino will reduce its hours as well.
The hotel closure, again, is shocking and of considerable concern to city hall, which depends on payments from Encore to sustain the city budget.
More staff will be laid off.
The closure is expected to be temporary.
However, with COVID-19 infections rising here and across the nation at a dizzying pace, it is expected the hotel could be closed at least for a month or longer until the winter swell comes under control.
