Clerveaux and Lamothe lead the way to big win

The Crimson Tide crushed Revere High School, 43-6, in the last home game of the season at Veterans Memorial Stadium Friday.
It was a special night for 12 seniors including Josaiah Stewart, Samy Lamothe, Brandon Gibbs, Tyrese Baptiste, Tyler David, Egan Gouveia, Ali Fountain, David Matthias, Brendon Previlon, Jasheem Rivera, Donrae Richardson, and RadJiwa Norestant who were cheered on by family, friends, and teammates as they donned Everett crimson for the last time.
First-year head coach Robert DiLoreto said they exemplify the strength of Crimson Tide football.
“All 12 of our seniors have been outstanding leaders,” said DiLoreto. “They have committed themselves to working hard and buying into the team mentality. I am so proud. It has been a pleasure to coach each of them,” he said.
Racing out to a 37-0 advantage by halftime behind their senior quarterback Samy Lamothe, the Tide (2-0) rolled against a previously undefeated Revere (2-1) team. Lamothe, who is playing QB for the first time in his career, accounted for three first-half touchdowns and nearly had a perfect throwing game going 8 of 9 for 238 yards and TD strikes to Ismael Zamor (56-yards) and Darryl Monvil (58-yards).
He picked up his third TD of the night with a 77-yard scamper late in the first half.
The Tide’s leading scorer this season, junior running back Jayden Clerveaux, provided three TDs of his own in the win. He finished with 94 rushing yards, including several 20-plus yard dashes.
“We were very impressed with Revere, they’ve built a winning culture there,” Said DiLoreto after the win, calling the challenge Revere presented, an 11-win team just a season ago, a catalyst for his team all week. “We had our hands full, and we knew it and it trans- lated to hard practices and a confident game,” said DiLoreto.
The undefeated Tide will hit the gridiron for the final game of the year Friday, May 14 at Lynn Classical. Kickoff is set for 6 PM.
