Part of Encore’s effort to come to terms with itself and what it ought to be is all bound up in a new venture by two Boston restauranteur legends.

Frank DePasquale – the man literally with all the dough and much of the skill – is partnering with his gambling buddy, the bon vivant Nick Varano to launch Frank and Nick’s for the new casino sports betting bar.

The eating and betting venue is Encore’s newest and most dynamic entry into the electronic betting world.

Opening on September 4, the restaurant will feature more than 60 televisions, including a mammoth 10-foot high and 123-foot-long video wall.

The restaurant will offer what is known in the business as a grab-and-go style menu with paninis on bread baked at DePasquale’s restaurant magnum opus Bricco Panetteria and with pizzas whose inspiration comes from Rina’s, one of Varano’s group of eateries.

DePasquale is inarguably the best and most sophisticated and hip purveyor of fine Italian food and good dining in the North End.

His walk down bakery on Hanover Street is to die for – whatever one buys in that bakery is the best that can be bought when it comes to freshly baked bread.

DePasquale and Verano will not be alone opening their new place.

A Shake Shack burger joint will also be part of the Wynn-BET Sports Bar.

Check it out.
