Frederick D. Caruso (Freddy), 70, of Malden, MA, passed away on September 12, 2021.

Born in Winthrop, Massachusetts on June 18, 1951, the son of Frederick and Janet (Trabucco) Caruso. Freddy attended Everett High School graduating in 1969.

Freddy worked for Conrail and Amtrak as a Locomotive Engineer and Locomotive Engineer Instructor from 1972 to 1997.

In his spare time, Freddy enjoyed listening to music like the Beatles and Classic Rock, but he also played his own music in a band when he was younger, Freddy could play the guitar keyboard and even the accordion.

Freddy also loved sports and always rooted for Notre Dame Football and the New York Yankees. He also had a love for old black and white movies especially James Cagney and Jimmy Stewart movies.

Freddy is preceded in death by his son Frederick (Freddy) John Christopher Caruso, his parents Frederick, Janet and Lea Caruso, his brother-in- law John Egan, and his first wife Susan Caruso.

Freddy is survived by his wife Johanne Caruso, his daughter Ashley Rumsey and her husband Jack Rumsey, his daughter Christianna Caruso, his grandchildren Tianna Rumsey, Giavanna Caruso, Lillyanna Keogh, Tyler Rumsey, Giancarlo Caruso, his sister Janet Egan, his nephew John Egan and his wife Patricia and his children John and Kaitlyn Egan, and his nephew Christopher Egan and his wife Dawn and his daughter Gianna Egan as well as many other family members and friends.

Visitation for Freddy will be held at the Weir – MacCuish Funeral Home on Friday, September 17 from 4-8 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 18 at 11 am., at the funeral home, and burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA.

In lieu of flowers consider making donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Freddy’s memory.
