Behind a masterful performance on the mound, Everett High School senior pitcher Celeste Fuccillo powered the Crimson Tide to their first win of the season Monday, a 7-0 shutout of rival Malden High School.

Fuccillo’s 7 inning no-hitter included just three walks and 12 fanned batters.

“We have two great pitchers,” said longtime EHS Head Coach Stacy Poste-Schiavo of her star duo of Fuccillo and junior pitcher Kristi Skane, who pitched a no-hitter of her own on Tuesday against Chelsea High School. Her 12 strikeouts helped lead the Lady Tide (2-0) to their second win of the season.

“I’m really proud of how the girls came out to get this win. We have not had a long time to practice and only had one scrimmage but they stepped up. Defensively, they showed a lot of talent,” said Poste-Schiavo following the season-opening win against Malden.
