Everett and State Police are continuing an investigation into the murder of a 38 year old Lynn man in Everett last week.
Early last Tuesday morning Everett Police were called to a Central Avenue address at 4:22 a.m. following reports of gunshots and screaming by neighbors.
They found a 38-year-old victim inside the home.
Everett Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office say the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The man who was shot was identified Thursday as Jarmahl Sutsen, a 38-year-old from Lynn.
This is believed to be the same Jarmahl Susten, aka “Mahl” who pleaded guilty to conspiring to distributing crack cocaine in Federal Court on March 4, 2015.
At the time, Susten admitted responsibility for distribution of over 70 grams of cocaine base.
The case was part of Operation Whiplash, an investigation of several street gangs in and around Lynn and Revere. Over the past two years, Operation Whiplash has resulted in federal and state charges against 47 leaders, members, and associates of gangs, including Money Over Broken Bitches (MOBB), the Crips, and Deuce Boyz in Lynn and the Bloods in Revere.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of more than 10 firearms and large amounts of crack and other drugs, according to the US attorney’s office.
Everett Police and State Police are asking that anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
