The Crimson Tide opened the season with a gut-check, 49-19, loss to visiting Xaverian on Friday.
The lopsided loss for the Crimson Tide (0-1) was result of an offensive onslaught by Xaverian, who was led by Henry Hasselbeck, the son of former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck totaled 190 passing yards and three touchdowns and Xaverian running back Michael Oates tallied 199 yards and two TDs on the ground. Oates also snagged a 79-yard TD pass from Hasselbeck.
In the losing effort, Everett senior quarterback Karmarri Ellerbe put his best foot forward, adding two passing touchdowns in the second half of the game. Everett junior running back Damien Lackland also contributed with a 33-yard score.
The Crimson Tide are scheduled to meet host Somerville High School on Friday, September 16 at 6 p.m.
