The long-awaited major repair portion of the Elm Street pipelaying, resurfacing and traffic flow project is into full swing.
Near to the end of last week, Elm Street, by the intersection of Chelsea Street, looked like a war zone.
Heavy equipment and dump trucks, front end loaders and pavers crisscrossed the territory like mammoth beast roaming the tarmac.

Police special details handled the dangers of passing through these open spaces that were all dug up and prepared for final grading and surfacing.
What pedestrians and passersby in their automobiles are witnessing is a multi-million dollar project planned for quite some time coming to fruition during the best season of the year.
