Those of us who love peanut butter have been brought up eating Teddie Peanut Butter.
Why?
It is better than all the rest of peanut butters for taste and texture all the time, each time we scoop peanut butter from a Teddie jar.
Last week, we announced that the New York Times voted Teddie Peanut Butter Natural the #1 natural peanut butter in the United States.
An accolade like this from the vaunted New York Times cannot be bought like an advertisement at any price from the Times. The accolade, in other words, is totally, unequivocally on merit alone.
The choice was made by NYT’s reporters who judge food products.
Being chosen number #1 in the United States is quite an achievement for a smaller manufacturer and national distributor of peanut butter.
The bonus ball in all this good news – Teddie is manufactured right here in Everett.
We congratulate the owners of the firm, which was founded by Michael Hintlian who established the brand name “Teddie” in the 1920’s.
Jim Hintlian, son of Micahel, took over the company in 1955.
In 1960, the growing company moved from Boston to its present Everett location.
In 1970, the transition was made to an all natural product.
Mark Hintlian came into the company in 1979. By then it has gone international with its products.
From 2007 to the present day, the Hintlians remain hands on owners with Mark’s son, Alex joining the company.
Again, congrats to the #1 voted best natural peanut butter in the United States.
