Windham, NH – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that former WBA World title challenger Greg Vendetti (23-5-1, 12 KO’s) will return to the ring for an eight-round Junior Middle- weight fight against Argentina’s Geronimo Nahuel Sacco (10-7-1, 2 KO’s) as part of the Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular at the Castleton in Windham, New Hampshire on Wednesday, November 22nd.

For Vendetti, a native of Stoneham, Massachusetts who trains out of Broadway Boxing in Everett, this will mark his first hometown area fight since 2019. Tickets are available now at www.BoxingNH.com.

“I’m excited to be fighting locally again. This is a good opportunity for my supporters to see me live. It’s going to be a lot of fun fighting in front of my friends and family again,” said Vendetti.

Vendetti last fought on a Boston Boxing Promotions event at the inaugural show at the Dorchester Armory in 2013. In the interim, he’s traveled far and wide pursuing professional boxing. From 2015 – 2018, he went on a 16 fight win streak including notable victories over Derek Silveira, Casey Streeter and Khiry Gray on the New England circuit and scored a big upset win over Japanese former world title challenger Yoshishiro Kamegai on ESPN in 2018. Kamegai had given Hall of Famer Miguel Cotto all he could handle in his previous fight for the WBA world championship making it a huge win for Vendetti.

Vendetti would parlay that into his most notable bout in 2020 when he challenged WBA Super Welterweight Champion Erislandy Lara in Los Angeles, California in a fight broadcast on primetime national FOX network television.

While Lara was a heavy favorite in the fight, Vendetti earned the respect of observers worldwide with a far more competitive than expected fight that he ultimately lost via unanimous decision with scores of 116-112 and 117-111 proving him to be a worthy contender.

For Geronimo Nahuel Sacco, he’s ready to take a leap and travel to the United States to play spoiler. Sacco has previously shared the ring with prospects such as Fernando Vargas Jr. and Matthew Rodriguez and is salivating at the opportunity to face a former title challenger in Vendetti.

“Much like Vendetti made a name for himself pulling upsets, I plan to do the same to him,” said Sacco through a translator.

Doors will open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm on Wednesday, November 22 at the Castleton in Windham, NH. Tickets are on sale now at Bostonboxingpromotions.com.
