Two tragedies on Broadway during the past two weeks have caused the accidental deaths of a pedestrian who stepped in front of a flat bed truck and was run over and the death of a motorcyclist who was struck from behind and killed last Wednesday.
Both accidents occurred in close proximity to one another, on a very busy stretch of Broadway between McKinnon’s and the Dunkin Donuts. A third pedestrian was struck by a car here and died on Route 16 three weeks ago near the intersection of Vine Street.
This brings the total of major accidents causing deaths to three during the past three weeks.
Two women died in a tragic fire on Madison Avenue on Sunday night.
At the beginning of the weekend, a 24-year-old medical student was driving Westward on Route 16 at about 9:30PM by the intersection of Vine Street and was proceeding through the green light when a couple dashed onto the road trying to cross the heavily travelled roadway.
A speeding pickup truck heading north on Broadway carrying three people last Wednesday morning swerved and then fishtailed out of control, slamming into a City of Everett trash truck killing two occupants of the pick-up truck and sending a city employee to the hospital.
