Have you ever been to a dedication of a parking lot? In 1958 the city of Everett dedicated the parking lot between Norwood and Corey St. Most of the city officials were there. The local radio station WHIL (now known as WKOX-AM) also saw t to cover the event. The radio reporter is on the far right holding a microphone.

Local leaders pose in front of the new MDC pool on Elm St on July 1,1961. Since then, the pool has become an Everett institution. Several years later a skating rink was added to the site. Both facilities serve Everett to this day.

Rogers Jewelry had a store on School St. for many years. This photo dates from Nov. 6, 1957. The company was celebrating it’s 50th anniversary and was giving away a new 1958 Chevrolet. The owners and a member of the Fire Department took time to pose for a photo advertising the giveaway. Do you recognize them? Let us know if you do!!
