Waiting for postseason slot

Celeste Fuccillo has fanned 19 batters over the last two Everett High School softball games, leading the Lady Tide to a win before dropping the Greater Boston League Tournament game Sunday against Lynn Classical High School at St. Mary’s Field in Revere.
In the 12-2 win over Lynn English on June 3, the Tide struck early, scoring 7 1st inning runs due to errors and walks to jump out in front for good. And Fuccillo made sure the lead wouldn’t be relinquished, striking out 15, including a 1-2-3 1st inning to set the tone.
Hayley Oteri led all batters going 3 for 5 from the plate. Fuccillo (2 for 4) and Kayley Rossi (2 for 3) pitched in as well.
The team’s strong 3-game wins streak was snapped in a tough 7-4 loss to Lynn Classical Sunday. After falling behind 7-0, Everett fought back in the 5th inning with 4 runs of their own.
The MIAA postseason schedule is set to be announced this week. The schedule will consist of teams that chose to opt-in to the playoff tourney.
