After wrapping up the New England Regional Championship in November, the Everett Pop Warner Crimson Tide A-Team finished second at the National Tournament in Orlando on December 8.

Also competing in the National Tournament was Everett Pop Warner’s C-Team, which finished in fifth place overall in their respective division.

Led by instructor Nicole Bounopane, the Crimson Tide A-Team finished in second place and received a trophy as well as each girl being awarded a medal for the achievement.

“Typically Nationals is in Disney, but this year it had moved over to Universal, so we weren’t sure what to expect. It was definitely a different experience, but in the end, the girls enjoyed their team day at the parks and made lifelong memories with each other,” said Bounopane.

“Both the A and C teams competed on December 8th and put on great performances! They both worked so hard during the season so it was bittersweet watching their last performances of the year,” she said.

“With coaching the A-team, you have a lot of girls where this is their last Pop Warner year so you always want to end on top,” said Bounopane, who won the national tournament twice in the past. “They truly put on an amazing performance and placed 2nd in the nation! I’m so proud of them and everything they accomplished this season!”
