GILLIS, George J. lifelong resident of Everett, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 9, 2022 at 87 years.
George was retired from MIT, after a long career as Supervisor of Facility Maintenance. Beloved husband of the late Mary J. (Giggie) for over 54 years.
Son of the late Dorothy (Risteen) and Elmer Gillis. Dear and devoted brother of Dennis Gillis and his wife, Bernadette of FL, Dorothy Dryden and her husband, Gordon of Lawrence, Diane Russo and her late husband, Joseph of Nashua, NH, Gary Gillis of FL and Deborah Milley and her husband, Richard of Everett. George is also survived by 18 loving nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend George’s visitation in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) EVERETT, Thursday, Jan. 13 at 8;30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett at 10 a.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. George was a lifelong supporter of Everett High School sports and the Boston sports teams.
